This month’s Cultural Conversations is a collaboration between the City of Bellevue and Bellevue Arts Museum featuring special storytelling by artist Humaira Abid. Abid will share the inspiration for her current BAM exhibition, Searching for Home. Through storytelling, connection, and table conversation, participants will travel through Abid’s art and experience the journey undertaken by families who, in crisis, are suddenly are forced leave their homes. Participants will also learn more about the resources that exist for refugee resettlement and hear about the challenges faced by immigrant women as they begin the process to establish a home in a new land.
Program Schedule:
- 11am – 1pm: Exhibitions open for attendees (docents will be present)
- 12:30 – 1pm: Check-in and gather for coffee, tea, and light refreshments
- 1 – 2:30pm: Program
- 2:30 – 4pm: Exhibitions open for attendees (docents will be present)
This event is recommended for individuals age 13 and up. RSVP required.
Free parking is available at BAM (enter from Bellevue Way NE heading north). Carpooling is encouraged.
