Recommended for children ages 4-10

In celebration of Diwali, Wasfee Vazir of Hindi Time Kids will teach families about Diwali and lead a guided craft activity with diyas, small clay lamps commonly lit for Hindu celebrations and rituals. Vazir will begin with a presentation about Diwali, focused on the holiday’s cultural significance and importance for South Asian communities worldwide, followed by a five-minute interactive family quiz. Vazir will then do a story time and hand puppet show for the children. The remaining time will be for the guided craft activity, decorating diyas with paint and sequins to take home with them at the conclusion of the workshop.
