BAM and NAAM (Northwest African American Museum) Members are invited to celebrate the opening of Strange Weather and Glenn Ligon: From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation.

Strange Weather features contemporary artworks spanning five decades, from 1970-2020, and explores the relationships and boundaries between bodies and the environment. Glenn Ligon’s complementary solo exhibition highlights his career in print from 1993-2021.These special exhibitions are curated by UC Santa Cruz Institute of the Arts and Sciences Director Dr. Rachel Nelson and Professor Jennifer González, History of Art and Visual Culture, UC Santa Cruz. Glenn Ligon’s complementary solo exhibition highlights his career in print from 1993-2021. The exhibition brings together works on paper by Glenn Ligon, which explore how constructions of blackness in the United States infuse popular culture, literature and history.
