95 minutes
An astronaut who condensed 12 years of education into eight months. A composer who stood outside the Prime Minister of India's home for three days until she paid for his piano lessons. A “monkey man” who wanted to take his own life, but instead decided to climb higher.
Talim is a film about three friends who set out on a journey of 5,000 miles across India and the people they meet along the way. In the stories they encounter, the filmmakers discover the embodiment of Nai Talim, an educational system envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi, which emphasized “education through productive activities.” The film presents the lives of some remarkable “change-makers” who ascribe to this ideal.
