Wit & Wisdom

"Even for people familiar with the range of her work, this show of more than 120 pieces holds surprises." -- Sheila Farr, Seattle Met

"… a terrific retrospective of her career…, is simultaneously so impressive and so entertaining, even when it's probing prickly personal or political subject matter. Spanning more than half a century, from 1960 to 2012, the exhibit is a provocative delight from start to finish." -- Michael Upchurch, Seattle Times

Patti Warashina: Wit and Wisdom honors Pacific Northwest artist Patti Warashina (b. 1940) for her tremendous, unparalleled contributions to the world of ceramics with a retrospective of over 120 works spanning a 50-year career. Warashina is known for her curiosity, effervescence, and healthy dose of skepticism. Her themes of human condition, feminism, car-culture, and political and social topics are raised by staying tuned-in to current news reports and her own subconscious voice.
