Bellevue, WA—The weekend starts at Bellevue Arts Museum.
Bellevue Arts Museum and 91.3 KBCS are pleased to announce BAM SOUND & VISION. This new collaborative concert series brings a curated selection of musicians together with high-impact exhibitions to create an entertainment experience unlike anything else on the Eastside.
On the final Friday of each month, BAM SOUND & VISION attendees will encounter a whole new side of art as they enjoy live music specially chosen to pair with one of the museum’s provocative exhibitions. BAM’s curators have teamed up with 91.3 KBCS to create the perfect meshing of sound and vision—from jazz and swing to accompany BAM’s groundbreaking exhibition on the influential midcentury architect, Louis Kahn, to Afro-folk that complements the high-profile and controversial work of Kara Walker, tackling issues of race, slavery, sexuality, identity, and power. BAM SOUND & VISION’s musical and visual pairings will play off of one another and enhance visitors’ appreciation and enjoyment of these two interconnected art forms.
BAM will provide the soundtrack to a Friday evening spent exploring the museum and engaging with some of the Pacific Northwest’s most inspiring and exciting art.
Doors open at 6pm. Food and drink will be on hand, and all ages are welcome. Admission is $15 for non-members and $12 for members.
Presenting sponsors: The Klorfine Foundation, 91.3 KBCS
