Bellwether 2018 is on view at Bellevue Arts Museum August 31 - September 30, 2018. The Bellwether arts festival will be held September 14-23 in Downtown Bellevue.

Bellevue, WABellwether, the City of Bellevue's fall arts festival, will celebrate its 14th edition in September—curated this year by Seattle-based art collaborative, SuttonBeresCuller. For their first project in Bellevue, SuttonBeresCuller is reinventing the experience of Bellwether, centering the experience on the Bellevue Arts Museum as the hub for arts activity, with other major sites for the run of the festival including Bellevue City Hall, Compass Plaza, and the Downtown Park.

As part of Bellwether 2018, BAM will host a pop-up exhibition showcasing more than 50 artworks from over 25 Bellwether artists. The works will feature a range of materials, styles, and scales and will activate a number of museum spaces that do not usually feature artwork—such as the Museum’s two staircases and garage. The exhibition will be on view from August 31 – September 30.

During the ten days of Bellwether, September 14 – 23, BAM will host a series of events and performances that complement the pop-up exhibition and festival. The Museum will also offer free admission to the public during these ten days.

This project is presented by the City of Bellevue in close collaboration and partnership with Bellevue Arts Museum.
