Planned Giving

Specific Bequest: Provides for the payment of a specific amount or distribution of particular assets of property to the Museum.
Residuary Bequest: After providing for family members and loved ones, designate all or a percentage of your remaining estate to support the Bellevue Arts Museum.
Contingent Bequest: If one or more of your named beneficiaries is no longer alive when the will is activated, the amount designated for them will go to Bellevue Arts Museum.

A bequest to Bellevue Arts Museum can be a powerful expression of your faith in Bellevue Arts Museum’s future. If you would like to include Bellevue Arts Museum in your plans by making a bequest, simply include language in your estate plans, examples of which follow:

POSSIBLE LANGUAGE FOR BEQUESTS
The most useful bequest is an unrestricted bequest for the general purposes of Bellevue Arts Museum. This permits the Museum to use your gift wherever it is most needed at the time:

Unrestricted bequest suggested language:
"I give and bequeath [the sum of ____ dollars] [all or ____ percent of the residuary of my estate] to Bellevue Arts Museum, 510 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue, WA 98004, for its general purposes."

Specific purpose suggested language:
"I give [the sum of ____ dollars] [all or ____ percent of the residuary of my estate] to Bellevue Arts Museum, 510 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue, WA 98004, for the following purpose: [state the purpose]."

If you specify a use for your bequest, the following language will assure that your gift will always remain productive:

"If at any time in the judgment of the Trustees of Bellevue Arts Museum, the designated use of this bequest is no longer practicable or appropriate, then the Trustees shall use the bequest to further the general purposes of the Museum, giving consideration, where possible, to my special interest as described above."
