"Art is an expression of beauty in every manmade thing - whether it be a sculpture, an automobile, a house or a bridge, an industrial building or a photograph, a table-setting or a chair, exquisite jewelry or a drinking fountain."
Russell Day, founding member Northwest Designer Craftsmen, "Art in Contemporary Living."

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Northwest Designer Craftsmen, a traveling exhibition titled Looking Forward, Glancing Back: Northwest Designer Craftsmen at 50', has been created. Guest-curated by Lloyd Herman, a distinguished authority on the contemporary craft movement in the United States, the exhibition features over 100 contemporary and historic works by NWDC artist members including: jeweler Ramona Solberg, furniture maker Evert Sodergren, quilt artist Nancy Erickson, ceramic sculptor Robert Sperry, installation artist/sculptor Lanny Bergner, paper assemblage artist Nan Goss and many others.
