Renate Raymond has more than ten years of nonprofit experience in a leadership capacity for groups such as the Seattle Children's Museum, PONCHO, Seattle Chinese Garden, YWCA and the Russian American Foundation.
She holds a degree in photography from the University of New Mexico and a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Washington. In the past, she has taught photography at two community colleges as well as at Discover U in Seattle. Among her past accomplishments are: raising funds for both capital and annual campaigns, building and maintaining effective membership programs, leading campaigns for gaining congressional funding, assessing and implementing database systems, counseling boards of trustees and organizational development, developing strategic plans, identifying key messages for targeted audiences, attracting local and national press attention, and developing and implementing administrative procedures for organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
During her tenure at BAM she has built a diverse funding base of corporations, foundations, government and individual support. Ms. Raymond has also founded BAM programs such as Free First Friday, Free Family Day and partnerships with the Bellevue Parks Department and the Bellevue Regional Library, a legacy that continues within the Museum's programming today.
