Mark Crawford has worked professionally for more than 25 years in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors leading and managing organizational change and growth. His expertise includes: strategic and operational planning, operations management, financial management, institutional advancement, marketing and earned revenue generation, governance and Board development, personnel management and advocacy.
He has extensive management and executive experience in the arts. He has held the positions of Managing Director for Portland Center Stage (Portland, Oregon) from 1998 to 2002, Associate Managing Director for A Contemporary Theatre (Seattle, Washington) from 1993 to 1998 and Administrative Director for Theatre de la Jeune Lune (Minneapolis, Minnesota) from 1982 to 1983.
He has also held executive positions for various youth and child development organizations, including serving as Executive Director at the Committee for Children (Seattle, Washington) from 2003 to 2007 and Interim Executive Director/CEO of the the Talaris Institute (Seattle, Washington) from 2007 to 2008.
Crawford spent ten years in the for profit sector working in management for various computer and software retail sales companies. He served as Operations Manager and as Regional Real Estate Manager for Egghead Discount Software. Crawford holds a degree in English Literature from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, was a student at the Children's Theatre Performing Arts School (Minneapolis, Minnesota ) during high school (where he also held his first professional arts positions in marketing and in administration). He is married to Megan and has two sons, Cordes and Calvin.
